What is Regenerative Medicine?

You may hear terms like “cutting edge” or “state-of-the-art” when defining Regenerative Medicine. The truth is, Regenerative Medicine has been a consistent evolutionary process over decades. It is now a standard of care that has been shown to bring most patients the outcomes they deserve. In some cases, surgical procedures can be avoided and medications that are taken to control your pain can be dramatically decreased or eliminated.

Regenerative therapies are different in that the treatment is meant to help stimulate the healing and growth of new tissues in the same way nature gave your body the ability to repair itself. Hemlock Pain Center consists of pioneers in conservative Regenerative Medicine. The very specific protocols and techniques used allow bio-cellular enrichment to tap into your body’s innate ability to heal and promote restorative health in a powerful way. Our premium Regenerative Medicine therapies include:

APIC-A2M

APIC-A2M is an exciting advancement in orthopedic science resulting from years of osteoarthritis research. The earlier indicators of joint destruction are discovered, the less invasive treatments can be. Early treatments can postpone the need for more aggressive and costly treatments like joint reconstruction or replacement. APIC-A2M utilizes a special molecule that is naturally found in your blood called, Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M). Blood is drawn and through a patented process, A2M is isolated and concentrated before injecting into the injury site. The A2M molecule acts as a powerful protector against cartilage breakdown by capturing the destructive enzymes known to cause inflammation like a Venus flytrap. Once captured, the bound A2M and enzyme are eliminated through your body’s natural processes.

Know for a F.A.C.T.

Start with a simple test to determine if you are a good candidate for the APIC-A2MTM Therapy. This FREE diagnostic test, known as F.A.C.T., looks for a unique biomarker in your joint or disc space called, Fibronectin-Aggrecan Complex (FAC). A positive amount of FAC indicates the presence of destructive enzymes that are associated with painful inflammation. These are the same enzymes APIC-A2M baits and traps to help reduce pain and inflammation.

100% Pure Amniotic Fluid

100% pure Amniotic Fluid is a non-steroidal injection consisting of natural fluid that is rich in growth factors, anti-inflammatory elements and has a fast treatment time. Amniotic Fluid injections encourage repair and rejuvenation of soft tissue, intra-articular, cartilage, menisci and join injuries. Although Amniotic Fluid injections are obtained from an elective, full-term cesarean section delivery. All donors provide consent and are screened per Federal Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) guidelines.

LibertyMTX

Also known as Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM), is the next generation of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. It utilizes your own blood platelets to release growth factors and stimulate regeneration. Similar to PRP, LibertyMTXTM starts with a basic blood draw and uses a controlled separation process to remove almost all contaminants, leaving a pure platelet solution. PRFM takes this pure solution to the next level by forming a gel-like substance that protects and preserves platelets for injection. This surgery alternative has been shown to repair damaged cartilage, cells and tissue, potentially restoring pre-injury function.

Marrow Cellution

Your body consists of a framework of bones, cartilage, ligaments and tendons working in unison. Injury or illness impacting your framework can impact your body’s overall performance. Research has shown that a concentrated injection of stems derived from your bone marrow can reduce pain over time and accelerate the reparative process. Marrow Cellution obtains your bone marrow, typically from your hip, and aspirates it through a minimally-invasive in-office procedure. Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMA) elements are rich in growth factors, proteins and stem cells. The BMA is re-injected into the damaged area of tissue to promote healing and improve function. Since BMA comes from you, there is no risk of rejection.

We utilize imaging for precise delivery.

To ensure the pinpoint accuracy in our treatments, we use digital fluoroscopy for precise delivery of steroids and local anesthetics to pain causing tissues. At the Hemlock Pain Center/Hemlock ASC we pride ourselves in using the most advanced imaging machine with the Zhiem Solo C-Arm. We are also in the forefront of emerging technologies and will soon be using ultrasound guidance in some treatment to minimize our patients’ exposure to x-rays.

Innovative and personalized treatment methods.

We are dedicated to alleviating pain for our patients and use personalized care plans to tailor a pain relief path for each one. That includes using cutting-edge devices and equipment to harnessing the power of your own body to boost healing with Regenerative Medicine.
